Udupi: Court grants anticipatory bail to three accused

Udupi: The Udupi court here – on Friday – has granted anticipatory bail to three girls of Nethra Jyothi Para Medical College who were accused of allegedly placing a mobile phone in a college washroom to film girls of another community.
A complaint has been lodged against Shabanaz, Alfiya and Alimathul Shafiya – students of the college – at Malpe police station. Following this the three accused had approached the Udupi First Division Court and the court has granted them anticipatory bail with conditions. The accused have been directed by the court to co-operate with the investigating officer and to attend the court when the inquiry is on. They have also been warned against issuing any threats whatsoever to the victims. The court granted them bail after obtaining Rs 20,000 bond from the trio.
The incident has grabbed headlines and National Women Commission member Khushboo is in Udupi to take stock of the situation.
