Mysuru: One more community radio station-JSS Radio 91.2 FM went on air on Sunday.
Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr L Murugan inaugurated the radio station at JSS Arts, Commerce and Science College, Ooty road campus, in the presence of Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji.
Murugan lauded JSS Mutt as active and effective in education. The progress of the mutt will propel further with JSS Community Radio Station, he said.
Suttur Seer Shivaratri Deshikendra Swamiji said “JSS Radio will give impetus to cultural and educational pprogrames to JSS College students and also benefit agriculturists in Mysuru.”
Mayor Sunanda Phalanethra unveiled the logo of Radio station.
Southern India Director General, Information and Broadcasting S Venkateswaran released the community Radio station App.
JSS Radio 91.2 FM Station is established with the approval of Information and Broadcast ministry, Government of India.
In the beginning the Radio station will broadcast programmes every day from morning 7 am to 8 am and in the evening from 4 pm to 5 pm. It intends to broadcast programmes on- Karunalu ba belake, Jeeva sanjeevini, Prathiba vilasa, Kavya parampare, Idu namma nadu, Bhaava sangama, Ivaru nammavaru, Parisara parichaya, Ayur satva, Gnana Sudha, Vignana gnana suddi, education and legal awareness programmes.
The patron listeners can listen to JSS Radio 91.2 FM by tuning in to Radio or Mobile radio App. The listeners can download JSS Radio App from Google play store available for android hand-sets or log in to www.jsscacs.edu.in to listen to the programmes.
University of Mysore VC G Hemanth Kumar, MLAs S A Ramadass and Tanveer Sait, DC Dr Bagadi Gautham, State Safai Karmachari Commission chairman Kote Shivanna, JSS Mahavidyapeeth Executive Secretary Dr C G Betsurmath were present.
