Gang rape case! Students launch artistic movement demanding capital punishment to accused

Mysuru: A day after the police arrested five from Tamil Nadu on the charges of gang raping a girl student in the city, a movement has begun demanding nothing less than capital punishment for them.

Students of city based Ravi Varma School of Arts Rahul Manohar and Sumanth Gowda have taken artistic route painting the walls on Dewan’s Road with- RAPE and the silhouette images of rapists hanging down from each letters.

An image of girl with her head ducked is also painted alongside to portray the trauma and agony suffered by the victim.

Only black paint is used to denote the anguish mixed with tragedy.

Following the incident of gang rape that occurred on Lalithadripura near the foothill of Chamundi Hill on August 24, protests was witnessed in various parts of the state including city.

It has triggered a nationwide outburst with people from various walks of life demanding stringent punishment to the accused.
