Lift Weekend Curfew! BJP MLC insists on tightening borders, rebukes MP Prathap Simha’s claims on Mys-B’luru expressway

Mysuru: BJP MLC A H Vishwanath on Sunday disputed his colleague in the party and sitting Mysuru-Kodagu MP Prathap Simha’s claims over 10-lane Mysuru- Mysuru- Bengaluru expressway project.

Vishwanath who is known for speaking bitter irrespective of ruling or opposition party also alleged that “Simha had no role to play in the project seeing the light of the day.”

“It is not the achievement of Pratap Simha. The project was designed and detailed project report (DPR) was prepared during the tenure of then chief minister Siddaramaiah and PWD minister Dr H C Mahadevappa,” said Vishwanath giving credit to his ex- colleagues in Congress party.

“If you are interested bring various schemes. When I was Mysuru-Kodagu MP and Ramya was Mandya MP and D K Suresh from Bengaluru rural, we all worked in unison for this project. Pratap Simha you are not the originator of this project, Similarly Undawadi drinking water project was planned under JNNURM scheme,” said Vishwanath aiming his jibe at Simha.

Delineating, Vishwanath who spoke on forthcoming Dasara festivities, demanded to constitute Dasara Authority as soon as possible.

Dasara celebration is a must in simple manner. It is also the state’s goodwill and Dasara Authority is also a long pending demand. While many authorities are formed in the interest of many castes and communities, heritage significant and culturally important Dasara celebration is awaiting the Authority, Vishwanath claimed.

As the government braces up to reopen classes with all safety measures, Vishwanath said “47,000 schools were developed with safety measures during my tenure.”

Children are mentally disturbed and attention on education is difficult. Education and health department must monitor the health of students on a routine basis, said Vishwanath.

Demanding for lifting Weekend Curfew in Mysuru, Vishwanath said “across the district positivity rate is low. Kerala border is 90 kilometres away from the city and some of the officers are seeking money to issue permission to enter without proper certificates and Covid negative report”, alleged Vishwanath.

We must control the border first. Similarly Kodagu borders should be tightened and Weekend Curfew must be lifted, he urged.
