Dasara exhibition to bring alive Puneeth Rajkumar with sand sculpture
2 min readMysuru: With a month left for Nada Habba Mysuru Dasara to start on September 26, Karnataka Exhibition Authority (KEA) is preparing to host Dasara Exhibition at Doddakere ground in the city.
The Authority has called a global tender for Rs 8.07 crore (Rs 8,07,73,001) through e-procurement and the bids will be opened on September 9. It includes entry fee, management of the system along with several other conditions.
Dasara exhibition is one of the prime attractions of the annual event, that offers all the products, fun and games at one place.
Moreover, the exhibition is being organised after a gap of two years, as the government had scaled down the navaratri festivities due to Covid-19 pandemic.
Karnataka Exhibition Authority Chairman Mirle Srinivasagowda told media persons on Wednesday “Dasara exhibition will be truly interesting with sand sculptures like that of Powerstar Puneeth Rajkumar and six prominent freedom fighters as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav planned as a major attraction at the new initiative of Sand Museum”.
The 90-day Dasara exhibition on Yoga 3D Mapping, separate vegetarian and non-vegetarian food courts to be organised to cater to the young and old alike who visit the expo, Srinivasgowda said.
Dasara exhibition grounds has been declared plastic free zone. Hence we are committed to get rid of plastic waste, he added.
Pure drinking water arrangements will be made by opening RO plants. Besides, measures will be taken to keep the premises clean and hygienic.
Letters have been written to police department to open outpost, fire and emergency services department to open outstation and health and family welfare department to open to open primary health centre.
The stalls will be allotted in A, B and C blocks. That apart there will 48 stalls of various government departments. All the preparations are expected to be completed by September 20, said Gowda.
Gowda said “Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai is keen on opening Dasara Exhibition at least 15 days in advance much before the onset of Navaratri. However, as is the tradition the exhibition will start along with Navaratri festivities on September 26 itself and will be open till December 12”.
Digital App is another new attraction that can be downloaded at the ticket counter. Those who download the app can easily assess the exhibition area and gain information on the attractions available with ease, added Gowda.
