1 min read

Mysuru: Even as the media houses have clarified that there is no threat of contracting the virus through newspapers, newspaper hawkers in the city are not ready to take the risk. They have resolved not to distribute newspapers from March 25 to 31.

The decision has been taken in the interest of both the hawkers and customers as a section of the latter are reluctant to receive the dailies due to the growing fear over the virus.

Newspaper hawkers at Vontikoppal in Mysuru decide to stop service for sometime.

A section of the hawkers who had gathered at Vontikoppal centre near VV Puram police station on Tuesday decided that ” They will neither distribute the papers to households nor the stalls till the further orders, complying with the decision taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and State Government”.

With this it is sure that beginning from Ugadi festival considered as new year according to Hindu lunar calendar, the practice of sipping coffee along with favourite dalilies will be off for sometime.
