Lockdown! Men in khaki pull up socks, restrain unruly people

Mysuru: With the lockdown declared in the state and district administration imposing prohibitory orders till March 31, police personnel have pulled up their socks.

Policemen deployed at borders and prominent roads in the heart of the city are restraining those found moving on the roads without any reasons.

As the ban orders are issued to prevent people from social gathering, especially unlawful assembly in the wake of Coronavirus, men in khaki are stopping two- wheelers and four-wheelers and enquiring about their itinerary. The unruly people are being told to return home.

Barring those who are heading towards hospitals and for buying daily needs, ambulances and pourakarmikas, the others are not allowed to hit the road.

When some picked up an argument with the police, they had to face the wrath of police who used mild force to silence them. They caned them even as the two- wheelers made an attempt to dodge sentinels.

As a precautionary measure, the police are pasting pamphlets to inform people on the availability and non- availability of services during the ban orders up to March 31.
