Coronavirus! Legal Metrology department raids drug store, imposes Rs 5,000 fine

Mysuru: In a continued raid on pharmacists selling masks and sanitisers at inflated price in violation of law, department of legal Metrology has imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on a pharmacist in N R Mohalla in the city.
The mask was being sold at the rate of Rs 25 against Rs 10 and Rs 210 against Rs 50 for the sanitiser.
According to Assistant Legal Controller K M Mahadeva Swamy, central government has already fixed a rate for different types of masks.
While two play masks are priced Rs eight, three play is Rs 10. While 200 ML sanitiser costs Rs 100.
Legal Metrology department’s Nithyanand and Rajendra were aalso present during the raid.
