Youths in love commit suicide at Hoggenakal Falls; boy dies, girl critical

Chamarajanagar: Two youths said to be in love tried to commit suicide at Hoggenakal Falls at Hanur taluk, Chamarajanagar district on Tuesday. The youths identified as Umesh (24) and a 16-year-old girl allegedly consumed poison. While Umesh breathed his last, the girl has been rushed to a hospital in Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu. She is said to be critical.
It is said that both were native of Kanakapura. They visited falls and took poison to end their lives. Visitors saw the two unconscious at the falls and immediately alerted the police. They rushed both of them to the hospital. Umesh died en route to hospital, the girl is said to be critical.
Tamil Nadu Police have registered a case in this regard.
