Woman found dead in house; hubby suspects murder

Mysuru: A 37-year-old woman was found dead at her house on Brahmin’s Street in Kote in Periyapatna taluk in the district on February 03.

With bloody injuries found on her head, it is suspected to be a case of murder for gain, according to a complaint lodged by her husband. Mangalsutra is suspected to be robbed from the victim.

The victim is identified as Kalavathi wife of Indresh. Indresh a businessman left home at about 8 am and returned at about 11.30 am. When his wife did not respond to repeated knocks on the door, he opened the lock with a spare key in his possession. When he looked for his wife, she was found collapsed in the room with blood oozing out from the back of her head.

She was found wounded in her eyes, ears and nostrils. Indresh with the help of his neighbours rushed her to a hospital, but to no avail.

Following the incident, concerned people staged a flash protest and raised slogans agains the police alleging apathy leading to spurt in crime rate. They also insisted on the visit of home minister and SP. They also demanded for performing autopsy at general hospital.

The police led by DySP Sunderraj later succeeded in convincing the agitators and shifted the body for autopsy at the mortuary attached to Mysuru Medical College and Research Institute ( MMC and RI).

Forensic experts and sniffer dog led by Inspector Balachandra looked for clues at the scene of crime.

The sniffer dog traced the scent till Doddakere, after passing through Basaveshwara Convent and Anjaneya Swamy temple.

A case is registered and investigation is on.
