Mysuru: Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H D Kumaraswamy sought the blessings of Goddess Sri Chamundeshwari at Chamundi Hill, ahead of high-voltage Channapatna bypoll, in which his son Nikhil Kumaraswamy is contesting as NDA candidate of JDS- BJP alliance.

Former MLA of Channapatna C P Yogeeshwara is the Congress candidate.

Kumaraswamy was accompanied by JDS leaders from Mysuru and Mandya, MLC C N Manjegowda, former MLA and JDS Working President S R Mahesh, former Mayor M J Ravikumar and others.

Speaking to the media about the upcoming Channapatna bypoll on November 13, Kumaraswamy expressed confidence in his son Nikhil Kumaraswamy’s winning chances, stating, “Nikhil will win the election this time, as there is no hurdle for the NDA nominee to emerge victorious with the blessings of the Goddess.”

He attributed this to strong support from NDA leaders and expressed optimism that Channapatna voters would give Nikhil an opportunity.

He added, “No plot against Nikhil will succeed.”

Kumaraswamy also addressed the absence of JDS Core Committee Chairman and MLA G T Devegowda from the bypoll campaign, explaining that Devegowda was occupied with various responsibilities in his own constituency.
