Veerendra Heggade-75: 45 students of SDM Women’s College donate blood

Mysuru: A blood donation camp had been organised at MMK and Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara (SDM) Women’s College, YRC Rangers Units and Lions Jeevadhara Blood Bank in the city. 

SDM Women’s College Principal Prof Sainath Malligemadu who inaugurated the camp said ‘Blood donation that helps in saving lives of others, not just assumes significance, but is also one of the greatest sacrifice. Everybody should take a call on donating blood on their birthday. If donated blood for once, it will help in saving three lives.’
 
The students of our college have been donating blood every year and this year the blood donation was organised on account of 75th birthday of Dharmadthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade.
 
Head of Jeevadhara Blood Bank Girish said “There has been a daily increase in demand for blood in Mysuru city. Considering the inevitable situations, blood camp is being organised in Mysuru city and district. SDM Women’s College has set an example for others, by being the first among women’s college in organising blood donation camp twice in a year.’
 
A total of 45 students donated blood in the camp.
 
Medical Officer Dr Kruthika, IQAC Convener of the college Prof K S Sukrutha, Prof Shivabeerappa of YRC Unit and Malathi of Rangers Unit were present.
