Congress leaders in Mysuru protest over ignoring MLA Tanveer Sait in new cabinet

1 min read

Mysuru: A flash protest was staged by a few Congress leaders as MLA TAnveer Sait did not find a mention in the newly formed Siddaramaiah cabinet. As many as 24 new ministers will take oath on Saturday.

The protest being held at Gandhi Square was in contrast to the celebrations at Raj Bhavan where the Mysuru unit Congress workers were celebrating the new cabinet oath taking ceremony. Congress leader Rasool and others held pictures of Tanveer Sait and raised slogans in his support.

From Mysuru, two senior MLAs, HC Mahadevappa from T. Narasipur constituency and K Venkatesh from Periyapattna constituency have secured positions in the new cabinet.

Expressing his displeasure, Rasool claimed that CM Siddaramaiah may have been misguided by others about Sait as the MLA is in good books of Siddaramaiah. Besides, he is eligible to get the ministry. “We want justice for Sait,” he added.
