Mysuru: BJP State Vice-president B Y Vijayendra on Friday made a fervent appeal to the party workers, especially his loyalists to maintain calm, irrespective of whether the highcommand fields him from Varuna constituency for the Assembly elections slated to be held on May 10 in the State.
Addressing the party workers, Vijayendra appealed to the party workers not to repeat unsavoury incidents that may embarrass the party and leaders in the district.
Recalling the political developments ahead of the Assembly elections held in 2018, where he was denied ticket at the last minute, Vijayendra termed it as a blessing in disguise, as it helped him shape himself as a leader who is recognised all over the State, especially in Mysuru, Chamarajanagar and Mandya districts.
As the general secretary of BJP Yuva Morcha and Vice- President of BJP now, I have been involved in organisational activities of the party, added Vijayendra.
Clarifying that, there is no decision yet on his candidature, Vijayendra said ‘Shikaripura taluk in Shivamogga cemented the political career of my father Yediyurappa. While K R Pet taluk in Mandya district is the punya bhoomi that gave birth to Yediyurappa.’
