Trade union leader, CPI’s H K Ramachandrappa dies at 78

Davangere: Trade union leader and Communist Party of India (CPI) State co-secretary H K Ramachandrappa passed away due to heart attack on Saturday. He was 78.
Ramachandrappa was undergoing treatment at a private hospital. He is survived by his wife, three sons and two daughters.
Ramachandrappa had extensively voiced for the cause of anganwadi and mid-day meal workers and headed CPI at various levels. He was serving as the State president of Anganwadi Workers Federation.
Ramachandrappa had served as the president and vice-president of town municipality.
To mark his contributions, Nituvalli Circle in the town is named as ‘HKR Circle’.
Communist party leaders and workers have mourned the death of Ramachandrappa.
Last rites will be performed on Sunday at RH Brindavana.
