New Delhi: Several months after Karnataka witnessed a political development that reinstalled BJP government, after pulling the rug under the feet of Janata Dal (Secular) and Congress coalition government, Madhya Pradesh is witnessing a high drama.
Chief Minister Kamal Nath led government in MP is staring at a similar situation, that was witnessed by then chief minister H D Kumaraswamy in Karnataka before paving way for lingayat strongman and BJP leader B S Yediyurappa.
In MP, it’s the internal feud within the Congress led by disgruntled leader and former MP Jyotiradhitya Scindia that has pushed the grand old party to the edge.
As Scindia of erstwhile Gwalior royal family called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the day, along with Union Home Minister Amit Shah speculations are rife that Scindia may join BJP anytime.
Meanwhile, the splinter group of 17 MLAs loyal to Scindia have been camping at a resort in Bengaluru outskirts. They are expected to announce their resignation, to reduce Congres government to a minority.
In the 230 member Assembly Congress has its own 114 MLAs. Kamal Nath formed the government with the support of two BSP MLAs, one from SP and four independents. BJP has 107 MLAs and two seats are vacant.
