Teen jailed for 10 years for ‘sexually assaulting’ boys

Mysuru: A teenager convicted of sexually assaulting four inmates at Government Boys Home, Vijayanagar in the city has been sentenced to 10 years rigorous imprisonment.
The district and sessions court and FTSC-1 court awarded the sentence on April 23, besides imposing a fine of Rs 10,000.
The convict Darshan had sexually assaulted the fellow inmates while at the boys home in 2019. The then Supeintendent of the Home M K Kumaraswamy had lodged a complaint in this regard at Vijayanagar police station. The police had filed a charge sheet along with evidence to the court.
Police Commissioner Dr Chandragupta has congratulated the previous Inspector S D Suresh Kumar, staff Srinivas Murthy, Kariyappa Gowda, Girimallappa Halki, Harish and Shivaraj Patil for investigating the case.
