Swachh Survekshan 2020! MCC ready with cleanliness to regain top spot

Mysuru: Mysuru City Corporation is all set to take on fresh challenges with ‘Swachh Survekshan 2020″ starting today (January 04). 

Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) along with Mysore District Journalists Association(MDJA) had organised an interaction programne on “Swachh Survekshan-2020” to share its plans to regain the top slot among clean cities in the country.

MCC Commissioner Gurudatta Hegde told that “our city is undoubtedly a clean city, because our pourakarmikas numbering 2,000 are making tireless efforts. We are  better than any city in the country and hence we request all to cooperate in the ongoing month”. 
 
Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath appealed that “My Waste My Responsibility” should be the motto of every citizen. It’s only then we can achieve cleanliness on the expected lines.

Service level progress, certification, direct observation and citizen feedback are the four main criteria for the survey totalling 6,000 marks. 
 
City is divided into four zone for the survey where the team of officials will inspect and upload realtime data through geo tagging method. 
 
Citizen feedback will be obtained through toll free number 1969, online and also from Swachhta MoHUA application. We are lagging behind in these categories, so we are focusing more on connecting with various groups and convey them to be aware of the survey and provide valuable feedback, he said. 
 
Swachh Survekshan 2020″ has unfolded from today (January 4) and concludes on January 31. We the million people city already achieved five star garbage free city certificate and we are declared as Open Defecation Free city. We have received ODF ++certificate, said Nagaraj.
 
During the interaction programme Deputy Mayor Shafi Ahmad, MDJA general Secretary K J Lokesh Babu, Vice- president (city) Subramanya, secretary B Raghavendra, Corporation environment engineers and other staff were present.
