MCC launches clean city exercise with mega ploggathon

Mysuru: Maha Mysuru Ploggathon marking the beginning of many exercise as a part of ‘Swachh Survekshan-2020’ was conducted on January 5. 

Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) launched its first mega ploggathon to create awareness against single use of plastic.

Mysuru Express’ former cricketer Javagal Srinath also the brand ambassador of MCC’s clean city campaign and orator M Krishnegowda flagged off the ploggathon in front of Mysuru Palace north gate. 
 
Hundreds of youths and senior citizens took part in the event and divided into three groups, they separately collected the single used plastic and waste.

Earlier a warm up music was played for the participants who shaked their legs to hilt. Later a street play was staged to create awareness against littering waste in public places.
 
Srinath gave a call to participants to dedicate themselves for cleanliness, with the motto of reducing plastic and start eco friendly habits to prevent plastic pollution. Each one should communicate to minimum 10 members about cleanliness and waste segregation at base level, he stressed.

Similarly M Krishnegowda said “It’s the duty of all, to do our bit towards cleanliness. We should respect pourakarmikas the real ambassadors of cleanliness. So we should provide good feedback to reclaim top ranking among clean cities, he added.
