Shivamogga scribe receives literary award

Mysuru: N Ravikumar a journalist from Shivamogga was conferred a literary award in the city on Sunday. The award ninth in the series is given every year in the memory of writer Mullur Nagaraj for the best of the poetries to encourage budding poets.
The ceremony this year coincided with a commemorative programme of journalist Rajashekar Koti who passed away recently.
Writers Dharanidevi Malagatthi and Banjagere Jayaprakash presented the award, under the auspices of Rangavahini, Chamarajanagar, Nele Hinnale and Dr Rammanohar Lohia Trust.
Ravikumar who is a journalist from profession runs a journal- Telex, published in Shivamogga. He is popularly known as ‘ Telex Ravikumar’. His tryst with journalism began in Mysuru, before finding a place in Shivamogga.
He is the recipient of many awards including award for best crime report given by Karnataka Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ), Bengaluru.
He is the outgoing member of Karnataka Media Academy, where he served from 2016 to 2019.
He had a humble beginning in the family of pourakarmika. Ravikumar’s father was a pourakarmika and the achievements to his credit is worth a mention.
