Bengaluru: From August 1, dairy products of Nandini brand primarily, nandini milk, curd and buttermilk will be heavy on customers’ pocket as prices will go up from Rs 1 to Rs 3.

Here is the revised price of Nandini products – toned milk (blue packet) will cost Rs 42 per litre, homogenised toned milk – Rs 43 per litre, cow milk (green packet) – Rs 46, shubham/special milk (orange pack) – Rs 48, curd (per kg) – Rs 50 and butter milk (200 ml) – Rs 9.

The Karnataka Milk Federation hiked the price in response to milk producers’ unions’ request that they were reeling under severe losses due to rising input costs and also lumpy skin disease. Although, they had demanded a hike of Rs 5 per litre, the chief minister approved a hike of Rs 3 per litre. The government has stated that revised fare would be transferred to the milk producers.
