New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday turned down the Central Bureau of Investigation’s appeal seeking its intervention with regard to Karnataka High Court’s stay order to probe against Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar in a corruption case.
The Karnataka High Court had issued a stay order against the CBI probe with regard to Rs 74 cr disproportionate assets case on February 10. Following this, the CBI had appealed against it at the Apex Court.
It may be recalled here that the CBI had filed chargesheet against Kanakapura MLA on charges of corruption. Shivakumar was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in September 2019 in connection with money laundering case and was later released on bail in October 2019.
