Right Wing activist Chaitra Kundapura arrested for cheating industrialist

Udupi: Popular Right Wing activist Chaitra Kundapura and another person identified as Srikanth Nayak have been arrested by the Bengaluru CCB police on Tuesday, for cheating an industrialist promising him a BJP ticket to contest from Byndoor constituency.

The industrialist identified as Govinda Babu Poojary was an aspirant for BJP ticket from Byndoor in Udupi district. The accused, Chaitra Kundapura, took advantage of this and allegedly claimed that she had good contacts in BJP and RSS leadership at high level. She and her accomplice allegedly took Rs 7 cr from Poojary promising him to get ticket. Poojary had believed in Chaitra but as promised, he did not get the ticket. Later, when Poojary asked Pooja to return the money, she allegedly cheated him. Poojary had filed a complaint against Chaitra and she had been at large.

The CCB police on Tuesday arrested Chaitra Kundapur and Srikanth Nayak on Tuesday. They are on the lookout for Gagan Kadur and Prasad, who were also accused by Poojary.
