Mysuru: Advocate Paduvarahalli Ramakrishna has appealed to the Commissioner of Archaeology, Heritage and Museums to protect the ancient inscriptions found at Nagawala in Yelwal hobli in the taluk.

Four stones, believed to be hero stones with etchings on them, have been found in a field.

Ramakrishna in his memorandum submitted at the deputy Commissioner’s office has explained that “There may be historical significance about Nagawala that is inscribed on the stones. The department should take steps to shed more light, before it is destroyed in continuous exposure to sun and rain. If left ignored, there are chances of losing the inscriptions for real estate lobby who may develop sites on the land. The officials should visit the spot”.
