Mysuru: Kannada Chaluvali Vatal Paksha leader and former MLA Vatal Nagaraj has demanded the State Government to withdraw the decision to stop celebration of Tipu Jayanti.

Vatal and his supporters staged protest on the premises of railway station on November 11 and said ” the decision to drop the chapter related to Tipu from the text books is impractical. It would be better if Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa teaches his MLAs about the negative impact of not giving Tipu his due”.

Vatal urged the central government to release Rs 50,000 crore towards relief works at the flood affected  districts in north Karnataka. We will protest outside the house of central ministers from the State, if our demands are not considered, warned Vatal.

Kannada activists Mugur Nanjundaswamy, Thayur Vittalmurthy and other leaders were present at the protest.
