People of Karnataka don’t need Modi’s blessings as they have Basavanna and Kuvempu’s blessings: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra

Mysuru: Karnataka is the land of Basavanna and Kuvempu. When people of Karnataka have their blessings, there is no need for Modi’s blessings for them, said AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. She took a dig at BJP National President J P Nadda’s comment that “If you do not vote for BJP, you will not get Modi’s blessings.”
Participating here for the first time to campaign at Helavarahundi in T Narasipura Assembly constituency on Tuesday, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra listed out various allegations against the State government. The Congress leader said that there was PSI recruitment scam, a BJP MLA was arrested with huge amount, there were corruption charges during the pandemic and also in procurement of eggs to schools.
She urged the people to vote for the government that’s sensitive to people’s struggle. “BJP government was formed against the people’s mandate. They brought the legislators by luring them to form the government. The State government was shamelessly mired in corruption,” she said. She blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not acting upon complaints written to him by contractors and school administration on the State government. On the BJP’s promise of employment, she asked the audience, how many of them are employed. “There are 2.5 lakh jobs vacant in the State and if the Congress comes to power, these vacant posts will be fulfilled. This is our promise,” she said. She also ridiculed the BJP government on ‘Amul-Nandini’ issue alleging that they ensured there was artificial scarcity to push Amul’s entry into the market in the State.
On the sidelines of the event, she was introduced to Darshan Dhruvanarayan by MLA Tanveer Sait and Dr H C Mahadevappa. She had a few words with Darshan, who is testing political waters from Nanjangud Assembly constituency.
