Mysuru: Ahead of State Budget to be presented by Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on March 05, Mysuru district Congress rural committee president Dr B J Vijaykumar has raised some of the demands to be included in the outlay.
1. The old Mysuru region has most of the lands under cultivation. Hence the government should think of opening a major industry in partnership with Centre to produce agricultural by- products.
2. Periyapatna taluk in the district is reeling under drought every year. It’s the only area in the district that is still dependent on rain. So, plans should be initiated to supply water from Harangi dam for the benefit of irrigation.
3. Most importantly, measures should be taken on developing late actor Vishnuvardhan memorial in Mysuru that remains pending for long.
4 and 5. More units of Kendriya Vidyalaya Schools should be opened and the Crest gates at KRS, Kabini, Nugu and Taraka dams should be replaced with latest technology and should be strengthened further for safety.
