MP Prathap Simha thanks State Government for devising law to protect religious structures

Bengaluru: As the State Legislative Assembly passed Karnataka Religious Structures (Protection) Bill, Mysuru- Kodagu MP Prathap Simha thanked Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Simha who called on Bommai and Revenue Minister R Ashoka, extended his thanks to the state government on behalf of Hindus.

He also termed it as a significant move that will help in protecting over 4000 temples in the State within the ambit of law.

Simha who had raised the issue of protecting Hindu temples especially after Adishakti Mahadevamma temple at Huchgani in Nanjangud taluk in Mysuru was demolished recently, is strongly voicing for the protection of Hindu temples.

The religious structures across the country that are illegally built in public places are being cleared as per the Supreme Court order of 2009.
