Mentally challenged woman patient sexually assaulted at K R hospital

Mysuru: In a disturbing incident, a 30-year-old mentally challenged woman patient was allegedly sexually assaulted at K R Hospital in the city.
Following the incident, Devaraja police have rushed to the spot to gather more information.
The incident suspected to have happened recently, came to light after a human rights activist flagged the incident and brought it to the notice of police.
The woman was admitted at the exclusive ward, when the suspect in the case sneaked inside after breaking the window grills. The woman was sexually assaulted in the ward.
When an elderly woman brought this to the notice of hospital authorities, the latter allegedly silenced her.
As the incident came to light through a human rights organisation, security guards of the hospital have taken to heels, it is alleged.
Chamaraja MLA L Nagendra is visiting the hospital on inspection any moment.
