1 min read

Mysuru: As the Heritage City Mysuru has switched into silent mode, one of the most popular supermarkets Mohan Bhandar is delivering groceries to hundreds of households in the city.

Since Mysuru has come under nationwide lockdown, there is a complete restriction on public movement, with people still feared to move out freely on the streets.

Mohan Bhandar which is delivering groceries to the doorstep of its customers from the past 10 years, has intensified its service now. Everyday, the supermarket giant is catering to more than hundreds of its customers ordering for home delivery.

Mohan Bhandar’s representative Praveen told Mysoorunews.com  “We are the first supermarket in city established in 1963 on Sayyaji Rao Road. Now people are in distress and the situation is critical. Hence, we opened our shop for home delivery of goods, mainly groceries, from a couple of days. Following the message circulated on Whatsapp we have been receiving hundreds of orders everyday. Our staff are working from 10 am to 6 pm”, he said.

Praveen also suggested the district administration to allow APMC wholesale market to function, because small shopkeepers will shortly go out of stock. If the district administration allows to purchase items at APMC, it will help people to stay at home. Otherwise unnecessary crowd will gather for groceries in front of the shops, he claimed.
