1 min read

Mysuru: To hundreds of homeless in Mysuru, City Railway station is the only shelter they could call their home.

However, with the City experiencing complete lockdown, they are struggling to find a square meal a day. Worst, they have no work to eke out a living too.

After coming to know of their plight, former MLA MK Somashekhar distributed nearly 30 food packets to these destitutes. However, there were still some hundred including women who needed food. Learning about them, City’s Jain organization came to their rescue who also provided them with food and water bottles.

Ever since the lockdown, one could see hundreds of homeless are queuing up on footpaths with no food and shelter. They hope that some kind-hearted organisations will help them. It’s time the authorities concerned too evolve measures to bail these people out from this worst times.

Meanwhile, MLA S A Ramdas has assured to provide shelter to these homeless. He told mediapersons that he will hold a discussion with the district administration on Friday to identify a chowltry to shift these persons till the lockdown.
