Lockdown in Karnataka extended till June 14! Rs 500 crore package to help needy, announces CM

Bengaluru: As anticipated, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Thursday announced extension of lockdown for one more week till June 14, with prevailing restrictions in place.
Besides, the CM announced a package of Rs 500 crore to extend financial assistance to the needy who are hit by the pandemic induced lockdown.
The lockdown that was previously announced was scheduled to end on June 7, 6 am.
However, the experts taking into account the total positivity rate of Covid-19 cases in the state recommended for extension of lockdown till June 14, the CM said.
