Mysuru: B S Yediyurappa is a strength that cannot be weakened by anyone, reaffirmed B Y Vijayendra, BJP candidate from Shikaripura. Speaking to mediapersons here on Saturday, Vijayendra rubbished reports that his father and former chief minister B S Yediyurappa is being downsized in the party. “Yediyurappa’s popularity has grown further ever since he stepped down as the chief minister. He is still the popular leader in Karnataka and no one can take that away from him,” he added.
BJP is party of workers who have toiled to bring the party to power in the State. This time, the candidates have been chosen after a thorough survey conducted by the party at the grass root level. Apart from politicians, there are doctors, lawyers, engineers who have been chosen as the candidates by the party to contest in this election. “Karnataka has been immensely contributing to the nation’s progress. The State is in the second position in GST collection. Prime Minister Modi knows the importance of Karnataka in the nation’s growth. Hence the party is experimenting with new candidates as it experimented in Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh,” he informed. He further said that the experiment is being done considering the State’s future in the next 40-50 years.
But the Congress that has pushed the nation backward in terms of economic progress wants Karnataka to be their ATM, if voted to power and the BJP is hoping for the fractured mandate to stake claim. “But I am sure the people of Karnataka will not give into Congress’ and JDS’ intentions. The people will recognize BJP’s contribution in the development of nation and will vote the party to majority in Karnataka,” he added.
