Karnataka elections: Koppal BJP hopeful Chandrashekar to quit as party chooses MP Karadi’s daughter-in-law

Koppal: BJP is facing a spree of rebels ahead of the Karnataka Elections and the latest edition in this is C V Chandrashekhar, ticket aspirant from Koppal Assembly constituency. The BJP has chosen M P Sanganna Karadi’s daughter-in-law Manjula Amaresh Karadi to contest.

Chandrashekar had been waiting in wings to contest from the constituency since 2018, but in vain. In 2018 elections, the party had announced his name as Koppal candidate but in the last minute, Karadi’s son Amaresh Karadi was given the ‘B’ form. Chandrashekhar was hopeful that he would get the ticket this time but his hopes were dashed when the party announced Manjula’s name in the third list. “Party higher-ups had promised me to give ticket. The party has again cheated me. There is no connection between the party’s words and actions. Upset over this, I will resign from the primary membership of the party and will contest as an independent or from JDS,” Chandrashekhar told mediapersons.
