Karnataka elections: 13 councillors from BJP, JDS and Congress join Reddy’s KRPP in Gangavathi

Gangavathi: As many as 13 councillors from JDS (2) Congress (6), BJP (4) and an independent candidate migrated to Kalyana Rajya Pragathi Paksha (KRPP) founded by mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy ahead of the latter’s nomination filing on Tuesday. Gali Janardhan Reddy will file his nomination papers from Gangavathi Assembly constituency in Koppal district on Tuesday. Migration of 13 councillors has raised to many speculations ahead of Karnataka Assembly elections on May 10.

The 13 councillors joined the Reddy party in his presence at the party office in Gangavathi on Monday.

Meanwhile, KRPP president Janardhan Reddy said that there is no connection between what BJP preaches and does. “There is neither ideology nor policy,” he mocked. He further said that senior leaders like Shettar and Savadi have quit the party. But for the sake of son Yediyurappa is still in the party. “I feel like throwing up when I hear party’s ideology,” he alleged. He welcomed former MLC Kariyanna Sangati into his party on Monday.
