Mysuru: SP R Chetan on Wednesday suggested the students to make use of online facilities to emerge successful.

Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) Competitive Exams Coaching Center launched one month training for Common Entrance Test (CET) for the students pursuing higher education after PUC in association with Jnanasharada Sri Vidyatheertha Institute of Culture at KSOU auditorium.

After inaugurating the online training programme, IPS Officer Chetan said “while some have financial obstacles, some will be having social hurdles. If we focus on difficulties we cant achieve anything in life. With a firm decision to achieve in life and hard studies we can reach the goal.”

Recalling the days he was pursuing coaching classes for CET, Chetan said “I hail from Tiptur taluk in Tumakuru, but was staying in my sister’s house in Arsikere in Hasaan. For CET coaching I was going to Tumakuru. So I used to wake up daily at 3-30 AM and catch train by 4-30 AM and reach Tumakuru as the classes were starting at 7 am. Amid these difficulties, I never lost confidence about studying good,” SP Chetan added.

Now, online education has reduced the burden of travelling to distant places for learning and has given the opportunity to study at home, said Chetan who lauded KSOU for taking such an initiative for the good of students in its silver jubilee year.

KSOU VC Prof S Vidyashankar opined that online education, particularly in Covid times has undergone many changes in the last one-and-a-half years. With this online mode of education is being strengthened. UGC has also developed new Applications for learning. Students should make use of the benefits.”

Sringeri Mutt’s Mysuru branch Dharmadhikari H Ramachandra, Institute secretary S K Bhaskar, KSOU Registrar R Rajanna, Finance officer A Khader Pasha, Dean Shanmukha and Competitive Exams Training Center’s coordinator Jainahalli Sathyanarayana Gowda were present.
