Cauvery Cancer Centre achieves 90 per cent recovery rate

Mysuru: Cauvery Cancer Center has achieved 90 per cent recovery rate, as the hospital treated more than 500 patients in the last five years.

Cauvery Cancer Centre (CCC) observed Head and Neck Cancer Day at its campus on Siddhartha Nagar on Wednesday.

Cauvery Cancer Centre (CCC) is well known for its treatment for regions in and around Mysuru. More than 500 patients have been treated in the past five years and more than 40-45% of the above patients belong to head and neck cancer group.

Cauvery Cancer Centre has a renowned team in treating the head and neck cancer and got a good result with 90% cure rate.

To commemorate this good recovery rate Cauvery Cancer Centre celebrated World Head and Neck Cancer day by organizing a Head and Neck Cancer survivors group meet at Cauvery Heart and Multi-Speciality Hospital on Wednesday.

About 35 patients of various head and neck cancers who have completed the treatment attended the meet.

Dr Sunil Muddaiah, Chairman of Coorg Institute of Dental Sciences was the Chief guest of the event.

Dr Javeed Nayeem, Senior Physician, President, MAHAN, and renowned columnist of Mysore was the Guest of honour who motivated the cancer survivors to continue to have a healthy lifestyle to survive cancer.

The program was presided by Dr GR Chandrashekar, Chairman of Cauvery Heart and Multi-Speciality Hospital who in his speech stressed upon the importance of preventive measures in cancer.

He also called upon the public to utilise the services of Cauvery Cancer Centre for holistic Cancer Care.

Public Information Brochure regarding head and neck cancers was released. Certificate of appreciation was given to all the cancer survivors.

The programme was later followed by an interactive session with all the consultants of Cancer centre.

Dr Sarala Chandrashekar, Managing director, Dr Rajeeva B N, Medical Superintendent, Dr Girish M S, Consultant Oncosurgeon, Dr Aravind R M, Consultant Laparoscopic Surgeon, Sandeep Patel, Facility director, Cauvery Heart and Multi Speciality Hospital were present during the event.
