Hunsur by-elections! 10 candidates in fray, over two lakh voters

Mysuru: The district administration is all set for the by-elections to State Legislative Assembly from Hunsur on December 5.
Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Sankar the district electoral officer said on December 2 “A total of 10 candidates are in the fray, with 2,27,974 voters on the roll to exercise their franchise. A total of 274 polling booths have been set up for the purpose and the timings of election is from 7 am to 6 pm”.
To ensure fool proof elections heavy three pronged security arrangements involving central reserve police force (CRPF), KSRP and other police personnel will be deployed at the booth.
The public campaigning will conclude on December 3 at 6 pm. The outsiders, those not related to the constituency should vacate complying with rules. Prohibitory orders will be imposed according to section 144 CrPC, said Deputy Commissioner.
The arrangements are made for counting of votes on December 9 at D Devaraja Urs First Grade College in Hunsur.
