Heavy rain in Kerala: Water level up at Kabini dam, alert sounded

Mysuru: Following heavy rainfall in Kerala the catchment area of Kabini dam in H D Kote taluk, the inflow into the dam has increased to 20,000 cusecs.

Following this, alert has been sounded for those residing in the banks of Kabini river as 10,000 cusecs of water is being discharged anytime.

The water level in the dam on Monday (24-7-2023) at 8 am is as follows.

Maximum Level: 2284.00 ft.
Today’s Level: 2278.31 ft (2283.73).
Max Capacity: 19.52 Tmc.
Today’s Capacity: 16.09 Tmc (19.34).
Live Capacity: 6.28 Tmc (9.53).
Inflow: 20749 cusecs (12655).
0utflow: River: 3333 cusecs (14063). Canals: LBC: 0 cusecs (0). RBC: 0 cusecs (500). Total canal withdrawal: 0 cusecs, Lift: 0 cusecs (0).
Totel outflow: 3333 cusecs (14,563)
Evaporation Loss: 8.97 mcft.
Rainfall: 60 mm
