Freedom for child, BOSCO celebrates l- Day with a message

Bengaluru: Bangalore Oniyavara Seva Coota ( BOSCO) celebrated Independence Day on the eve on August 14, by creating awareness against various issues relating to children.

The venue was Lalbagh Garden and a group of children from Vatsalya Bhavan, formed a chain like flowers and danced to the swelling crowd.

With their dance performance, placards, handbills and banners they demanded freedom to study, play and to be children. They also asked for freedom from child marriage, child labour and other abuses.

Chandan Kale PSI from Jayanagar police station said ‘It is the responsibility of the society to ensure that the children grow up in a free environment to be the good citizens’.

Nanjegowda from Tilak Nagar station urged the children to report the cases of child Labour, child marriage, child abuse, child trafficking and other cases’.

Nadaf, PSI of Siddapur police station spoke about child rights, laws and policies and their effective implementation’.

Mathew Thomas, executive director of BOSCO said the campaign was the objective to motivate the society to care for children and protect them’.
