Forest staffer killed in wild elephant attack at Chikkamagaluru

Chikkamagaluru: A 26-year-old Forest Department staffer was killed and two others were injured in wild elephant attack at Chikkamagaluru district on Wednesday.
Karthik Gowdanahalli and few others who were working with Elephant Task Force, was deputed to drive back elephants into forest, when a wild tusker attacked them at Sattiganahalli in Mudigere taluk, Chikkamagaluru district.
Karthik suffered grievous injuries on his head when he was trampled by the elephant and succumbed on the spot.
The two others who sustained injuries are admitted to Mudigere hospital.
They are the contractual employees of Forest Department.
