District-level Millets festival on Jan 18

Mysuru: A district-level Millets festival will be held here on January 18. As part of the festival, a rally will be conducted to create awareness on millets and its importance from Kote Anjaneyaswami temple to deputy commissioner’s office. The festival is being organsied in view of the UN’s declaration of the year 2023 as the International Year of Millets.
Deputy Commissioner will flag off the rally at the temple premises at 7.30 am where Zilla Panchayat chief executive officer, district superintendent of police, district-level officers of Agriculture department and NCC students will take part.
Later, a workshop will be held on growing millets, marketing and use at P Kalingarao Gana Bhavan at Dasara Exhibition Grounds.
District In-charge Minister ST Somashekhar and Agriculture Minister BC Patil will inaugurate the workshop.
