Covid-19: MLA Puttaraju demands probe into bringing body from Mumbai to Kodagalli

Mandya: After reports of a man’s body was shifted from Mumbai to B Kodagalli in Pandavapura taluk for cremation went viral, Melukote MLA C S Puttaraju has claimed that none contacted him for shifting the body.
As the incident has opened a pandora of questions on how the body was shifted from Mumbai crossing numerous checkposts and who permitted them, Puttaraju told media persons in Pandavapura on Friday that he was not aware of the incident until media houses reported it.
“Unnecessarily my name is being linked to the issue. I strongly demand an investigation into this,” said Puttaraju.
He sought to know howthe body was shifted crossing over 15 check posts and no where they were inspected. How could this be possible, he questioned demanding a probe into it.
At least the officials took care to allow them to cremate on the outskirts of the village. Thus, they have saved the village, he observed.
