COMED-K results announced; Mysurean Nischith P secures eighth rank

Bengaluru: The results of COMED-K, Under Graduate Entrance Test is announced and of the top 10 ranks, five are secured by Karnataka candidates including three from Bengaluru, one each of Mysuru and Ballari.

They are- Veeresh B Patil of Vijayanagar, Bengaluru has secured first rank, Shiva Sudhan R of Jayanagar, Bengaluru second rank, Shrikara A of J P Nagar fifth phase seventh rank, Nischith P of Srirampura second stage, Mysuru eighth rank and M Sree Harsha Bhat of Vidyanagar Township, Toranagallu, Ballari 10th rank.

The exams was held on September 24.

Subsequent to the mandate given by the Association of Engineering Colleges,
COMEDK conducted the entrance test for admissions to Under Graduate
Engineering courses for the academic year 2021-22, according to Dr S Kumar
Executive Secretary, COMEDK.

The test was conducted online in 244 test centers located in 157 cities across the Country.

As against 66,304 candidates applied seeking Engineering UG seats around
44,111 (16,632 Karnataka and 27,479 Non-Karnataka) candidates wrote the
test.

Subsequently, Provisional Answer Keys were
published on September 17 and challenges/objections to the said
Provisional answer keys were sought from the candidates.

Accordingly, as many as 84 Candidates challenged the answer keys. Taking into consideration the advice of the Expert Committee, which went into these clarifications, a set of final answer keys was published on September 23.

Since the exam was conducted in two sessions, percentile scores of the candidates have been considered for announcing the ranks.

Keeping this in view, COMEDK has
today made available the ranks of the candidates eligible to participate in the
COMEDK Counselling process.

The candidates can access their Ranks
through their respective ‘Applicant login’.

As has been the practice, an analysis of COMEDK Ranks has been made
and it discloses the following:

a) 4660 candidates are in 90th to 100th percentile. Out of this, 1244
candidates are from Karnataka.

b) Similarly, 4343 candidates are between the 80th and 90th percentile.
Among this 1193 candidates are from Karnataka.

c) Likewise, 4672 candidates are between the 70th and 80th percentile, of
which 1500 candidates are from Karnataka.

d) Out of the first 10 ranks, 5 have been secured by Karnataka candidates,
whereas this number is 44 out of first 100 rank holders.

4. Rank cards of the eligible candidates have been generated and available to
the candidates in their ‘applicant login’ on the COMEDK website
(www.comedk.org).

5. As has been done last year, this year also, the COMEDK counseling would
be conducted online and the candidates have to upload the scanned copies of
the documents through their login. These uploaded documents will be verified
by the panel of expert verification officers.

6. Vide its circular dtd. 18.09.2021, the Visvesvaraya Technological University
has announced the revised academic eligibility for B.E./B.Tech programmes
for the year 2021-22 according to which a candidate has to pass 2nd PUC /
12th standard examination with English as one of the Languages, Physics and
Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology
/ Biology / Electronics / Computer Science.

6. The number of seats available for being filled up, the quantum of tuition
fees and Counselling dates would be notified in due course which will be in
the immediate order of sequence to that of KEA.

Also, a separate set of Counselling Process Document detailing the procedure for participating in the Counselling would also be made available shortly and the candidates are required to refer to the website (www.comedk.org) regularly for all the updates, besides familiarizing themselves with the seat selection process thoroughly.
