Citing ‘discipline’, Modi denies to answer

Prime Minister Narendra Modi

New Delhi: The maiden press conference of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the company of BJP national president Amit Shah had raised many eyebrows on Friday.

However it ended with a disappointment for those who were looking for Modi to take questions in media briefing. It was also the first ever press conference of the prime minister in five years. While he had been interviewed by select TV channels in the run up to election and also after that.

A reporter mostly from a news channel particularly mentioned that his question was to Modi. However Modi said ‘ There is a discipline in the party, Party president assumes significance…’ gesturing that others will remain silent.

That was the end and all hopes fell flat with Modi not taking a question.

However when Modi spoke earlier he made a direct reference to the style of operation of ‘Satta Bazaar’ during 2014 elections, when Congress was favourite for punters, with little stakes in favour of BJP. However when the results were out, BJP won and many had lost heavily for favouring Congress.
