Celebrated architect and Ganabharathi Veene Sheshanna Bhavan member M S Rajagopal no more

Mysuru: Mysuru’s iconic Ganabharathi Veene Sheshanna Bhavan member and celebrated architect M S Rajagopal passed away here on Sunday. A resident of Krishnamurthypuram, Rajagopal was 92 and was ailing for sometime, according to family members. The last rites will be held on Monday.

He was the brain behind the Veene Sheshanna Bhavan also called Ganabharathi, a prominent landmark in Kuvempunagar. It was due to the efforts of Rajagopal who brought music enthusiasts like G T Narayan Rao, G L N Ayya, J R Lakshman Rao together to have a dedicated place for music, dance and drama. Their vision was materialized into Ganabharathi in 1991. Interestingly, the name Ganabharathi was suggested by legal expert C K N Raja. Ganabharathi has been promoting music and dance talents for all these years and is a matter of pride to perform here for dance and music enthusiasts of the City.

Ganabharathi members and music and dance lovers condoled the death of Rajagopal.
