Cauvery row: Federation of Karnataka Tamil Association supports Karnataka bandh on Sept 29

Mysuru: The Federation of Karnataka Tamil Association has pledged to support the Karnataka bandh on September 29.
In a press release issued here on Thursday, Federation president S Francis said that the monsoon has weakened in the Cauvery catchment area as a result reservoirs in the Cauvery basin have gone dry. This has hugely impacted farmers of Karnataka. In this backdrop, it is difficult for Karnataka to release water with Tamil Nadu.
The Federation understands the plight of Karnataka farmers and hence will support the Karnataka bandh on Friday. In fact, the federation has also stood with Karnataka farmers, earlier too, said the release.
