Cauvery row: Mysore Hotel Owners Association extends support for Karnataka bandh on Sept 29

Mysuru: The Mysore Hotel Owners Association has extended its support to the Karnataka Bandh on September 29. Various pro-Kannada organisations have called for a State-wide bandh on Friday to protest against the State government for releasing Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu.

In fact, the bandh will be held under the leadership of Kannada Chaluvali Vatal Party leader Vatal Nagaraj.

Meanwhile, a meeting was convened by Mysore Hotel Owners Association president at the Association’s office here at Krishnamurthipuram to discuss about association participating in the bandh.

Post the meeting, it has been decided to support the Karnataka bandh on Friday. The members of the association have been asked to gather before the Kote Anjaneya Swami temple at Palace premises at 9.30 am to extend their support to the bandh.

In Bengaluru, various organisations are expected to take out a massive protest rally from Town Hall to Freedom Park against the State government.

The protesters have threatened to block all major highways, toll gates and even disrupt railway services and airports as part of the bandh. The Autorickshaw unions have also extended their support to the bandh.

Many schools have declared holiday in view of the bandh. Karnataka Streetside Vendors Federation State president Rangaswami has stated that the streetside vendors will stay off from their business as part of Karnataka bandh.
