Nagamangala: A mock funeral procession was held at Bellur Town Panchayat limits to send across a strong message that social distancing and wearing masks are a part of everyone’s lives.
Asha workers, pourakarmikas, anganwadi workers, health personnel and others who are involved in fighting Covid-19 pandemic conducted the programme.
Bellur town in Mandya district has so far been safe from the Covid-19 and this was made possible by the Asha workers, pourakarmikas, anganwadi workers, police and health personnel. But with lockdown being relaxed, people have thrown safety rules to the wind threatening the possible spread of the virus. To educate them on inculcating the habit of wearing masks and maintain social distance, the mock funeral was held.
Bellur TP Chief Officer RV Manjunath led the campaign.
