The officer said there have been several complaints of bar owners not following the guidelines of ensuring social distance among customers, not having installed CCTVs, entertaining customers without masks and selling liquor at higher rate.

She warned them to address these issues from tomorrow or face action.

Pointing out at the lack of staff in many police stations as majority are on Covid-19 duty, she told the owners that she cannot provide security to the owners and they themselves have to ensure their safety to avoid any untoward incidents.

She also asked them to follow the guidelines provided by Excise Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner.

Wine shop owners from Maddur town, Kesthur, Besagarahalli and Koppa police jurisdictions took part in the meeting.

Circle Inspector KR Prasad, sub-inspectors Manjegowda, Prabha and Anandkumar were present.
